Dominating UNC Game!
Posted by Air23 | Filed under Sports
Virginia Tech 53, Carolina 92….. Hopefully with this big win Carolina is back to their dominating ways. With Ty Lawson still out due to an ankle injury, Tyler Hansbrough having an infected toe, Deon Thompson hyper extending his knee and Quentin Thomas having back spasms Carolina showed that they still have the heart to win and win 39 point difference big. Hansbrough still had his 23 points and 9 rebounds along with Ellington having 19 points. Yes it was only Virginia Tech but if you look at their last three games Carolina struggled greatly. Their next opponent will be NC State in four days which isn’t a very long break to get healed up so hopefully they will be able to come together again for another big win.
STOMP!!!

A great performance that you must see is STOMP. Last night I saw the production at the Rochester Auditorium and it’s magnificent. They take objects that are used daily such as brooms, pots, plastic bags, kitchen sinks, rubber gloves and basically whatever makes noise to make music and sounds. It was astonishing how they managed to literally fly across the stage telling a story by dance and music. I would have never thought that such objects would have made unbelievable sounds. If STOMP ever comes around again I will make sure I definitely purchase tickets again to see them. It’s a must see!!!
FFRF Billboards Sparking National Controversy

In early February, the freethinkers group Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) debuted its 14 X 48-foot stained glass style billboard with the message “Imagine No Religion” in Columbus, Ohio.
The national campaign is an effort to let Americans know that there is room for reason and clarity of thought, free from the dogma that organized religion uses to keep its flock in line; as well as donating.
Dan Barker, Foundation co-president and author of ‘Losing Faith in Faith: From Preacher to Atheist’ said “Many of our members, including generous sponsors in Ohio, want to balance all that religion on the roadside with some reason on the roadside.”
According to the FFRF, one of the local Ohio donors to the new nationwide sign campaign said, “Gov. Ted Strickland apparently needs to be reminded that many wonderful, patriotic, hard-working Ohioans do not ’support churches.’ In fact, they believe that too much religious influence over state government is harming the state. In recent years, state officials have caved to the religious right on issues such as gay rights, the right of other consenting adults to live as they wish, and the display of Christian symbols on state property. These divisive actions have driven people from Ohio and distracted the state from the serious economic problems it faces.”
Ohio faced pressure from FFRF last year over nativity scenes on state public property, and Governor Strickland was accused by the group of giving an unlawful order to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, putting back the contentious nativity scenes on public property after DNS had ordered them removed.
The Pittsford Dairy Has the Best Chocolate Milk Ever
Posted by Adrienne | Filed under Food
Maybe it’s a rare symptom of seasonal affective disorder, but, for whatever reason, I’ve been kind of obsessed with dairy products lately. I’ve been buying milk and making things with milk and trying cheeses with names I can’t pronounce. Today, I decided the next step on my adventure would be to visit the Pittsford Dairy, because I’d heard they make excellent chocolate milk.
The store itself is an itty bitty building, but it is full-to-bursting with exciting things. They carry ravioli from The Ravioli Shop, ice cream from Corn Hill Creamery (which I haven’t been able to get for MONTHS on account of the way their store in Corn Hill Landing is closed for the season), and they have all kinds of milk in wonderful refillable glass bottles. I got a quart of the chocolate milk, and, six hours later, it’s almost gone. It’s amazing. Seriously, it will make you feel so much better about the fact that we haven’t had a day of sunshine in weeks. If I lived on the east side, I’d be at the dairy every other day.
Tough UNC Loss!!!

Yeah, Yeah so the the score was Duke 89, Carolina 78. Carolina and Duke is one of the most exciting sports rivalries that has existed for years. The Dean Dome was rockin and the both teams were ready to play and played their hearts out. With a Carolina loss the game was still amazing! Tyler Hansbrough contributed an amazing 28 points and 18 rebounds. Unfortunately, Ty Lawson was out due to injury which really hurt the Heels chance of getting and obtaining a lead. Their pace was much slower and at times their offense seemed disorganized and stagnant. Even though they lost by 11 I believe that if Lawson was playing 100% and if Ellington would have made a shot they would have dominated the game. Duke is a good team but I believe that when they play again March 8th and if everyone is healthy they will be back to their dominating ways. Carolina’s next game will be against Clemson in Chapel Hill on February 10th televised on FSN.
