Cycling 2008
Now that cycling season is right around the corner, it’s always tempting to look for a new ride. Last year I bought a road bike which was a Cannondale Caad8. The bike itself is nice and light but the overall construction of the bike was frustrating. I had a lot of problems with gearing along with parts and pieces staying tight and snug. One time I was riding with Team CFC from Webster to Sodus Point (50 miles round trip) and back. During the way back my pedal crank came right off my bike but was still attached to my shoe. Thanks to Shannon he had a tool that enabled me to get back home. My Cannondale Caad8 is fine for road rides but last year Shannon and I participated in a few time trials, Shannon participated in a couple duathlons and this year we would both like to complete a triathlon. During these events the bike makes a huge difference in time along with the amount of effort exhibited during these events. The lighter the bike the easier and faster it goes, so we are both interested in getting a triathlon bike. So if I were to buy a triathlon bike I would choose one from below. All are comparative in price and performance, but I would definitely want to complete more research along with test riding each one.
